After the expansion of our Made in USA recordable optical disc product line, MAM-A Inc. offers the full range of our silver CD-R & DVD-R/+R products and our 24kt gold archival CD-R and DVD-R/+R products with a Made in USA option. Completion of our 2010 capacity expansion at our Colorado Springs manufacturing made this possible. MAM-A Inc., is the last recordable optical disc manufacturer with CD-R & DVD-R lines in the United States.
Although all of our discs are made to the same high standards, products made in Colorado give an option to Americans willing to pay a little more to purchase Made in USA goods, and for North American trade partners looking to pay lower tariffs.
CD-R technology
Since the laser which records the data burns the dye, the dye is a key aspect of the technology required to manufacture a high-quality CD-R. One of MAM-A Inc.'s greatest strengths lies in its use of the patented Phthalocyanine, the best organic dye currently available.
All MAM-A CD-R discs contain:
- a polycarbonate layer
- a photosensitive dye layer (Mitsui's patented Phthalocyanine)
- a reflective layer (gold or silver)
- a protective lacquer layer
- an additional protective top layer (MAM-A's exclusive matte surface)
With its
worldwide patent on Phthalocyanine (tha-lo-sy-a-neen), MAM-A Inc., by integrating this into the manufacture of its media, derives considerable advantages, and coupled with other strengths in manufacturing, has become the quality leader in the industry.
The different properties of Phthalocyanine dye helps make MAM-A media
the best on the market, as it allies excellent quality with very high strength, remarkable reflectivity, low stress and ideal compatibility. What is more, during the recording process, the
Phthalocyanine burns more accurately and faster than other dyes, which allows for
first class fidelity in the retransmission of the information.
The distinguishing feature of the MAM-A Inc. resides in the fact that it has
mastered all the manufacturing stages of CD-R media. In fact, today MAM is the only company to control
100% of its manufacturing chain (polycarbonate, dye, lacquer and diamond layer), and does not therefore depend on another company to produce its media.
*Prism strobe setting is recommended at 500-550.
